The Move Has Been Stressful

The calamity of moving to a new location

Change is a good thing, but I did not realize what a learning curve this would be. Initially, this move to the new site was with a different template. I had a heck of a time modifying it to look like the template shown on the web. After putting in a request to SiteGround, my new hosting site, they billed me $34, but did not do what I asked.

Believing this came under the support clause included in my package, they were great about issuing a refund after I complained. The next step was to try to find someone on, but in the meantime, I found the template you now see, which I think is better. A programmer advertised they could make any site look like the ones chose template. For $5.50, it was a no-brainer.

A different issue arose. Though I attached the zip file for the theme, he/she kept asking for the xml file and plug-ins. After downloading the theme from multiple sites, checking the zip files, none of them had an xml file within it.

The next step was to write the theme designer who offered it for free. Their response was excellent. They would install the theme at no cost. Just as I was going to have them do it, the person from came through and completed the task.

She/He said he did not realize it was a free theme, so went ahead and retrieved what was needed. Job done!

I am still learning how to modify the appearance, so bear with me. The good news is we are now on our own URL, no longer is dot It was disappointing to find that was taken, but is fine too.

Here is hoping you continue to enjoy our adventures.

After completing my Ed.D., the frustration of finding a teaching position where I was willing to live, led to Ron and I leaving the country. We intended to travel for a year before settling somewhere in MA or RI. We left the US without any credit card debt, no car payments and our house mortgage paid by renters. We had $10,000 in the bank to make our way through a year.
